I like it...
I like the style and because I can imagine this massive centerpiece over the fireplace in a very swanky pad, or maybe a hi-rise loft around 50 years ago, with dinner party guests sipping their cocktails underneath while listening to the latest vinyl on the stereo hi-fi set. And that bamboo frame is a novel little detail that I'd really go for. But at the same time, I'm just not sure about the theme. Now if were Polynesian instead... then I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat!

I agree - polynesian would be perfection
Asian, Polynesian... It was all popular at the time.
And it appears to be priced right...
The original lamp in my kitchen is Asian inspired. Pagoda styled. Not sure why, with the pink formica and appliances, but that's what the builders put in there.
But I'm replacing it because Asian/Polynesian just isn't my cup of tea lol... =)
Polynesian always looks good to me, especially since we have summertime for a few short months here!
Grandma G. was very heavily into the Asian-inspired theme. She even had several Pekingese dogs.
I like it. Great imagery. Bold, colorful, exotic and mysterious in a way that polynesian art just won't ever be (on account of everyone already having so much of it). It's different, and different can really pop (even if the painting is placed within a polynesian context).
So... Have you bought it yet? =)
Yes, it definitely meets the criteria for exotic and mysterious.
And nope, I didn't get it yet, had to pay a visit to the dr's instead... phooie! :P
