Parade of Atomic Homes?... There's More???

Hiya all!

It's me, Atomic Babette again!

Were continuing with our tour of the 1958 ranch home "The Delores." Now everyone form a neat line right here and follow me, right this way!

We've already seen the mid century modern living area and the retro kitchen. Are you ready for more? Even if you're not, here we go . . .

The Den/Office/Studio

Oh my, what have we in here? A room full of emptiness! This room was cleared only a month ago making room for a studio area.

My stars! Everything is old in here, isn't it? The tank-side table, the art table... even that G-3 computer *giggle*

You know, I think the homeowner really should install adjustable wall shelving over the art table, like that originally used in this home in the 60's-70's. Wouldn't that give him someplace swell to showoff that vintage camera collection?

The art equipment came straight from the family's commercial graphic arts business, dating back before we experienced better living through computers!

And he should do a feature about that space collection on that blog or whatever it's called of his too. Because it's so... Spacey!

No, no Mrs. Roberts, I don't believe he'd be interested in trading his collection of Space memorabilia for your vintage dentures collectibles. But maybe you could ask him, hmmm?

That's all for now . . . Be sure to come back again as we continue with even more of the tour!

The Atomic Home Tour Continues

Well hello there, again!

This is your tour guide Babette again, and I'm very happy to be with all of you today. There's so much to see, isn't there? *gleem*

We've just finished up with the Living room, and now we'll continue on with our tour today by having a look at...

The Kitchen

This china hutch has been in this home and part of the family for many years, almost since the house was built.Oh dear *gasp!* As you can see the owner has been spending too much time chatting it up on his computer. He really should have gotten caught up on his housework and finished cleaning those dirty dishes before having a tour of his house, shouldn't he? ...Men! What can you do with them?...

The home owner told me that most of the items displayed in the kitchen belonged to his Mother. She was quite the vintage collector from what I understand.

And of course, the homeowner also has his own collections which he's quite proud of ...

In fact, I think you'll all agree that he's been collecting a little too much!

How much more of this snooping will the home owner allow???
Find out - come back next time!

Parade of Atomic Homes is Here!

Hi there, and Welcome to our Parade of Atomic Homes! My name is Babette and I will be your tour guide.

Now I'd like to invite each and every one of ya'll to our first home on today's tour - it's a single story ranch style called "the Delores" built in 1958. Doesn't that just sound dreamy?! Let's have a look inside, okay? Now watch your step. There's a lot of stairs to climb, isn't there? There you go! Oh, isn't this landscaping just adorable? I hear that most all of the flowers and greenery are original to the property's beginnings.

Allrighty then! As we step inside can anyone tell me what Mid-Century Modern is? Does anyone know? That's right ma'am! Mid-Century Modern is the style of decor highly popularized during the 1950's, and that's the style that we see today inside of this very home.

The Living Area
Has everyone made their way inside? Could one of your gentlemen please help Mrs. Roberts up with her walker? There we go! You just go right ahead and please make yourself feel right at home.

Oh, by the way, the owner requested that if everyone would please watch their step? And please walk around his genuine imitation Himalayan Nanny Goat Hair Rug... He is kind of overly-sensitive about that. *wink*

Thank you so much!

If everyone would line up behind me, I'll escort you to the next room on the tour. Yes, there's plenty more yet to see!

Oh, Mrs. Roberts, now there's no need for pushing and shoving like that! You'll all get your turn soon enough...

Be sure to return next time, as we continue the Tour!
