Anyway, during our trip I kept my eyes open and camera lens focused to bring you some classic Old West American tourist traps. Yippee! I love tourist traps!
The first one is a diorama reconstruction of classic from the mid-century, the Sioux Trading Post once located in Ogallala, Nebraska.
This diorama is a new attraction added to the Fort Cody Trading Post (offshoot of the old Sioux Trading Post since the early 70's) located at North Platte, Nebraska. Part novelty shop, part museum, the Post is worth stopping for... especially on those long drives heading west on I-80!

There'll be more to come in a future post - stay tuned!

Hey hey! I just figured out how to get the blog and BBC codes from flickr. =) Is that the problem?
Ooo I love tourist traps!
More please... =D
Yeah! I'm from Lincoln and when I drove through North Platte for the first time last year I had to stop at that place. Just looking at it from the outside, you know you won't be disappointed in your disappointment. I think these horrible little traps have a magnet for people like me.
Aromic Ranch, I click on the links above the image, but nothing comes up (thinking they upgraded the coding above my 'puter system's ability) Is there another way to nab the embed codes???
Rev., I think they feed on a person's inner-kid curiosity, they're so irresistable. Wish I had the time to stop at all these traps, but that would seriously eat away at an extemely limited travel time. But I'll always make time for Fort Cody!
***Snickers@Aromic Ranch lol... Hey I took a shower... Sometime =P
Click on the image, then click on "Share this" link right above the photo, then "Grab the html" or "blog this" if you want to set it up that way.
Is it werkin'? Do ya see all that?
If not, yeah, have to upgrade because a lot of these new image host dealios don't work on older computers. =(
I've been using photobucket a lot, but that didn't work for me either until I upgraded. Even now it still doesn't quite work correctly, but I can still grab the code. =O
I love Tourist Traps in the US but then that's cos when I'm there I'm a tourist! Great photos!
I just bought the most fabulous unicorn shirt from this joint about a month ago. Did you see the two headed calf?!
